Sara Chandler.  Artist.

I was a child in Wiltshire, out on the Salisbury Plain; studied in Bath and taught in Chipping Campden.  I have been surrounded by beauty all my life and have never taken it for granted.

I am a retired art educator of 40 years.  I left the rhythm of the classroom for a quieter journey: a journey to rediscover a more personal, creative path. This is a constant challenge.

The rhythms and colours of landscape are constant sources of joy and inspiration.  Knowing when to stop and avoid over working detail are constant sources of frustration. I am finding my way, albeit slowly.

Drawing remains important to my practice and reminds me that seeing is very different to looking.

We live in an amazing place.
